Lights in the sky on the 4th of July

For the 4th of July, unfortunately, we couldn't be at home with our family to celebrate. Nevertheless, we went to Vidihna Stadium to watch the fireworks display. The event was a benefit for Kaua'i Hospice. Kaua'i Hospice is an organization where volunteers take care of patients who are faced with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. There were many people that attened the event. There was also a row of booths selling food and refreshments. The firework display went on for a long time. It was a great way to celebrate the 4th of July and was a time where the students and kumus were able to bond.

Aloha!

Aloha kaua e Ashley. I was really surprised to see so many people gathered at the football stadium but very happy to see the support that Kaua'i Hospice receives from the community. I'm glad we were able to support them because Kaua'i Hospice really helped our family out when my grandmother was at the end of her life. I think we all enjoyed our time together and mahalo nui i ke akua for the beautiful weather. malama pono, kumu malia

Watching the fire works was really fun. When i saw the jamba juice stand, i was so excited to get some because it was like the only time we had jamba juice..hehe :]. But it was a cool experience and we all loosened up and got closer at the event.

I personally think that the 4th of July was the night where we all started to bond and open up to one another. I especially enjoyed the fireworks display - it was the longest I've ever watched! After attending the celebration I was happy to find out that the money supported the Kaua'i Hospice. That night was worthwhile and memorable on so many levels.

I`d have to say that the fourth of July was the best day of the entire Kaua`i trip for me. After a long morning of harvesting salt, we were treated by being taken to see the awesome fireworks! I enjoyed bonding with one another that night.. and I was also blessed to run into some of my Kaua`i native friends(:
