Hey! The food on this trip is soooooooooooooooooooooo ONO! Well, let me just tell you a story about a few kids from Maui, O'ahu, and Big Island that went to Kaua'i and Harvard, and experienced a lot of culinary adventures. So, to mention off the top of my head a few dishes: Mock chicken, beef stew, brick oven pizza, laulau, poi, omeletes . . . hold up, hold up, weren't those omeletes tuesday morning AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I kidd, I kidd.
The laulau we made was great, Kumu Kepa and I were craving it ever since the first ti-leaf we deboned. Anyway, not to mention Hamura's saimin house--that was the best saimin I ever had I think, it was something other than the usually package ramen and cup o noodle. That's one place I'll definetly remember. The fourth of July food was good--that's all I have to say.
At Harvard, the food was definitely different for everyone--mashed potatoes, sauteed apricots, peas, beans, chicken . . . no portuguese sausage, smoked meat, RICE, or goteberg! But hey, I guess you gotta try something different eerywhere you go. What's gross though, for as much as we eat, the girls burp so much and so loud it's unbelieveable . . . it's cool though (I won't mention names).
Anyway, for the first and second week of our trip the food was excellent and alright at times. As far as the third and fourth week is a mystery in itself. Laters!!!!!

HEY HOWZIT, this is TMAN a.k.a. Thomas Kerr here sayin that the food was da bomb brudda. I love laulau but when I first saw it, I thought it was a nasty piece of food. Once I tried it, hey, it made my taste buds turn around and very soon I couldn't get enought of it. I can wait till we share our laulau with the Wampanoag Indian people, they will so stoaked out once they try it. Well that all I've got to say SHOOTS!!!! I'M OUT!!!!!!
Hey everybody..
well what can i say about the food here in boston? it is really DIFFERENT...they dont eat rice with almost all the food they eat and it's mostly pasta, sandwhiches, and pizza. i miss the food back home but i can't wait for our luau so we can share our culture with the proffessors and everyone we met here in harvard.
All the food we've consumed thus far, from the beginning of the huaka`i in Kaua`i, to here in Boston, it was all so 'ono! Not ONCE were we unsatisfied or lacked food in our stomachs. So to all makua, don`t be too surprised if your keiki comes home fairly... plump (:
I can honestly say that I've never eaten so good before in my life. Every meal that we ate on Kaua'i can still be vividly recalled in my mind. Especially the Brick Oven Pizza, which is probably the best Pizza on the Islands. It was extremely nice of the Nobregas to cook for us every night!
Yeah the food has been great (when we were in Kaua'i that is except for your "omlettes" eww!) KiDDiNG! We were being fed very well in fact when we were done eating we were going to eat again. I would have to say the food in the mainland is definately different than local food. Truthfully, it's not great, alright at times. I would have to say one of the best foods we ate in the mainland was at Martha's Vineyard we had steak, ribs, fried rice, "poi", "white rice", hot dogs, etc.
ALOHA!!!!!!
All I can say if that we got spoiled on Kauai and now are paying the price....
Best of Kauai??
G O T E N B U R G...

Aloha kakou,
Out of all the foods that we prepared or ate, I think that I really miss the Hawaiian food, such as, laulau, kalua pig, poi etc. I cannot wait until our Lu'au. We will be having a Hawaiian Lu'au tomorrow for those who don't know and we will be sharing the food that we prepared on Kaua'i with our Native American friends. I can't wait, just can't wait!

I really miss the food from Hawaii, I miss rice and poke a whole lot...I had enough of Boston's Pizza, can't wait until our luau...I drool just thinking of it.
The food here isn't drastically different from what I eat at home. Although, they don't have some foods at home such as Taco Bell, Piza Hut, and Jamba Juice. We have been eating so much on the trip. We have $7 for breakfeast & $11 for lunch. It may not seem like much but that money goes a long ways here. I noticed that their foods are somewhat cheap when compared to the food at home.
HMMM...omletes on tuesday morning...Know wonder I got sick!! nah jokes... they were super good. Teach me how to flip the egg! before we leave.
