i thought it was cooL how we were Like in a chain and we had our own specific jobs & how we had to work together to make the LauLau.

I was so tempted to eat the laulau while it was steaming in the barrel!! It smelt so `ono!! The best part of making the laulau was laulima, for that`s how we prepared the laulau so quickly. I can`t wait for the lu`au!
that day was really different because when my dad made laulau, it would only be me, him, and my mom, and so it was cool to work with everyone and the work went by faster. The finnished product was so ono with the hawaiian salt we harvested. :]
It really was a different experiene to help make the laulau and kalua pig - from start to finish the whole process was fun! And when everything was done the next day I couldn't wait to eat it all and to see all our hard work pay off.
I couldn't believe how much work it took to make Lau Lau!! I'm proud of everyone. It was cool how we all had specific jobs. In the end it was ono. That's good stuff!!

Making the lau lau was so fun... I never really made more tahn 30 lau lau's so that was diiferent..and the lau lau was ONO!
I was so eager to just eat some laulau because I love it so badly but I knew I had to wait until we could get it cooked. I remember doing this at home in where my mom would have a group of kids call The Maka'au Kids where they would go and make laulau or kalua pig. They would use an imu that was made at a resents house to cook the laulau and kalua pig. My mom made me go and help her with making the food and that's how I kind of got to know more about how to make laulau and kalua pig.
I've seen my family make laulau before, but what I regret is that I never stepped in and helped, but now I don't regret learning how with Aunty Malia.
This was my first time making laulau. Wow is it a process. First you have to pick the leaves. Wash and wipe down the leaves. debone the leaves. stack the meet in the leaves. Tie the leaves. OMG. its was pretty tasty after though!
