We are given a fifteen-minute break after tutorials to prepare ourselves for conference. I absolutely love my conference group; Brian King heads all six of us in discussion from day to day. The environment that we are in is casual and it makes learning for all of us...fun! Never have I been able to openly discuss what I think about the content we are learning. Ideas are being “pop corned” out from across the table and though we may all have different opinions we still respect each other.
Currently in conference we are learning about the brain, nervous system, memory, and other relevant ideas. We have reading from the night before and after we review it together, we are given the chance to ask questions. Usually our discussion gets pretty deep and Brian involves all of us. He does not want to keep on talking and lecturing us so he encourages all of our questions and mana’o. I fail to recall any time when he put down our input, and even if our answers are wrong, he helps out without embarrassing us. This is probably the most beneficial time of the day for me personally, and I wish that all my classes were run in this manner. I’ve learned a lot in the past two weeks that I’ve been a part in this conference group and I really don’t want to leave this learning style or teacher. Hopefully in the future I will be given an opportunity similar to this again.

I really liked conference because it seemed like a open discussion and was a relaxed environment. The conversations we had would just continue from one topic to the next. Dave [Potter] is the best!
i LOVE CONFERENCE!!
Conference is really interesting especially with Dave.
I really feel really comfortable with him. I love it because we have open discussions about anything.
I really really enjoy our conference sessions! My conference group is administered by Dave. I enjoy it so much because there are only five of us students, Dave, and sometimes a chaperone. We have the opportunity to share our input and listen to others` ideas and thoughts. It`s so much easier, in this manner, to discuss topics and issues; it makes learning so much funner!
Conference is the best thing I think--maybe tutorials is better though--they're up and up. What I like about conference is that, with Ed, it's based on intellectual topics of discussion ranging from a lot of different things. I love conference because you always get a chance to speak your mind, and everyone can either come to a consensus on what your opinion is. It's a truly fun way to learn.

Conference is very interesting to me, I am in the conference room with Brian. It is interesting because Brian applies learning about the nervous system to things that we (STUDENTS) are interested in like videos, and we also talk a lot about evolution..IT'S SO FUN!!!
HAAAAY! Brian kings conference is awesome. He has so much enthusiasm, and it shows a lot when he teaches. I guess you could say it rubs off, because not one of us fall asleep in that class. (our eyes may close, but were still concious) I feel that I learn the most in conference. It is a great system to conduct classes in. Everyone is on the same page, and its very open. What I will always remember is his comparison of neurons to hot boys. Science is everywhere. mahalo brian.
i Love conference especially when we get to ask questions to test Brian's knowledge. Brian also makes it easier for me to understand about neutrons.
