HUNAP
On Tuesday, July 17, we had a dinner lecture about college admissions by Steve Abbott. Steve is the associate director for recruitment and student affairs of HUNAP. HUNAP is the Harvard University Native American Program. The mission of the program "is to bring together Native American students and interested individuals from the Harvard community for the purpose of advancing the well-being of indigenous peoples through self-determination, academic achievement, and community service. Steve shared information about HUNAP, Harvard College, financial aides, admissions, scholarships, and other helpful tips when applying for college. In between his lecture we had a short break to eat pizza from Bertucci's Restaurant. I thought that Steve's lecture was very helpful and also inspired not only myslef but others as well to apply to Harvard College.

HUNAP was totally interesting.
What i thought was really interesting was that it probably is cheaper to go to a more expensive school than a less expensive school....
WOW!!!!
I think the best part was the FOOD!!
LOVED IT!!!!!
I really am going to take advantage of their program tips.
All the information that was given to us that night was rewarding in so many ways than just one. At HUNAP, they discussed with us funding, Harvard, the application process, and so much more! Even though my school offers informational sessions similar to this, none can compare to HUNAP. Everything they shared with us was beneficial and I appreciate them taking time out of their busy schedule to give us tips to get ahead.
I`ve heard college tips and guides many times before, but I definitely think this was the best thus far. They were so kind and laid-back; what they had to share with us really did inspire me to do my best these last two years of high school, and to apply for Harvard. Something significant they told us that sticks in my mind is to not doubt yourself, for you can accomplish a lot by working hard and trying your best! Even if I don`t end up going to Harvard, I`ll definitely use their tips and apply it to my application process and attending college.
HUNAP was fun, exciting, and informing. Some of the college application part I knew already--so I'm glad about that. But it really got me thinking, and with all this information--I'm pretty much almost set for college--how to prioritize this new information. Also, it really seems like a family program sort of deal with HUNAP and that's what I like.
HUNAP was very interesting. I thought the information they gave us is very helpful for our future college plans...
I just like to say that HUNAP was a major help. They answered a lot of questions about college one on one. It wasn't like you were reading it off the computer, which sometimes leave out things, or don't completely answer your question. This gave the whole "shabang". After learning things from HUNAP, I can honestly say that I see every single one of us attending Harvard.
I didn't know that Native Americans have so many resources for college. I even learned a few things for when I register for college and for scholarship.
