By now we have all gotten accustomed to our morning schedule; after eating a hearty breakfast at courtyard café we head straight to class which starts promptly at nine. Our days start off in tutorials, which are little groups of about ten people in a casual learning environment. This environment makes it easy for us to say whatever is on our mind without having the fear of being put down. Everybody discusses openly with each other and nobody is ever negative. We are currently finishing up a case study dealing with a 19-year-old woman, Spotted Eagle. This case study consists of many different parts and we are given a part a day. After reading through the paper, we take down the facts that we jut received, hypotheses we have drawn, tests for our hypotheses and learning agenda that we need to look up. At the end of the session the learning agenda turns into our homework and we come back the next day with a paper and presentation ready.
Spotted Eagle was first introduced to us about a week ago and so far we have seen her go through seizures, treatment, relapse and so much more. Basically, we are playing the role of a doctor trying to treat a patient. Through this process we have learned many new things and have bonded with our fellow “doctors.” I’ve personally never participated in any tutorials before this program and I have to say that I really do enjoy it. Each day is different and I love walking into class every morning. It’s like watching a suspenseful movie where we are all anticipating what is going to happen next.

Hey Jenny just wanted to comment you on about the tutorial. I also saw that when my tutorial group was place in that sort of environment where we could share our ideas without having to hide them it proved to be a great help. We were able to express our doubts, feelings, and suggestions towards the homework that we had to do and the the 10 parts that we had to read about Spotted Eagle (main person in the story). This just made it a whole more exciting and experiencing because we could all work together and still share some of our ideas. So I just wanted to comment you on that. That's all Jenny, I see ya later.
TUTORIAL IS AN INTERSTING WAY OF LEARNIG, I ENJOY IT. I LIKE ARGUING ABOUT WHAT COULD BE THE POSSIBILATIES
Tutorial is so fun. My favorite part is getting a new part of the case every day. That is what pushes me to get up in the morning.
I agree.. tutorial is always unpredictable and fun. I enjoy going into tutorial each day not knowing what will happen, not only with the case, but with everyone's opinions and ideas. It`s fun to share my own thoughts, and to relate to those of others.
i LOVE TUTORiAL!!....
Truthfully Tutorial is what I look foward to each day. I think it really nudges me to get out of bed because it is soooo interesting and exciting. I love the deep discussions and getting to know and work with one another. I'm really going to miss tutoral A LOT!!....
i ALREADY AM :(
I think that tutorials are a great way of teaching. I love that this style of teaching makes us use our knowledge of what we know. We are able to discuss amongst each others about what we think and our opinions. We also get to share our homework which is a topic that we researched about.
They just don't know. Our TUTORIAL GROUP is the best. Why? Our presentations are right on the money. From the 1st day, each of us came up with a clever presentation. From skit to powerpoints, and even scavenger hunts. All this fun, and still didn't lose track of the information we were sharing. I love tutorials, and I think it is a great class that all school systems should consider. It helps with public speaking, group work, and allows open discussion. All opinions are welcomed, and its a always a good class day.
