I'm right about that, those girls are so friendly and talkative. And they all really have an interest in our culture and love to learn the Hawaiian language. The one who stuck out the most to me was Chelsie.
Chelsie is a BEAUTiFUL "chocolate" and Native American Indian girl. She is 15 years old and attends Yarmouth Regional high school. She lives in Dennis in Cape Cod and loves dancing the "jingle dance" in Pow Wows. She also like to play basketball and field hockey. The first thing I told her was that she was so beautiful and I wanted to take her home to my little brother.[hehe] Having Chelsie in my tutorial group was also nice because we're sort of alike so I have someone to support me with my ideas. We also have an obsession for sneakers.
I also gave her a Hawaiian name, Chelsie's name is Pomai(blessed) because she felt blessed to be in this program. She likes to be called by her name.
After the trip me and Chelsie will be keeping in touch, and happy to say I have a new friend!

I was kind of uncomfortable of being with the Wampanoag people until I met Thomas Fantasia. This guy is, I think 15 years of age, and is going to be a junior this coming school year. He is a great person to hang out with and also he always so funny and talkative at some times. I enjoy hanging out with him because I respect him the most and he respects me as well. He is one of greatest Wampanoag Indian friends that I have ever had.
Meeting new people from different backrounds is one of the goals of mine when I came on this trip. Chelsea is one of the Wampanoag Native American students, and yeasterday she danced a dance called "the jingle dance" and it was very interesting to learn about her clothing and the dance.
I agree! Chelsie is such a sweetie. I was fortunate to work with her for a learning agenda in tutorial. She`s also very talented and dances the "Medicine Dance" beautifully! I`m glad we got to meet others who we can easily connect and relate to.
Since we got to Harvard before the Wampanoags I anticipated their presence. I didn't know what to expect but I was looking forward to meeting them.
Chelsea was one of them. She is a totally cool person. Very nice. I think she has pretty eyes. It's really cool how she is into her culture. I think thats GREAT!
One of the most interesting opportunities of this program would have to be meeting other indigenous people. All of the Wampanoags and Aquinnahs are extremely friendly. It's cool being able to bond and learn alongside them.
Chelsea at first I thought was going to reserved and shy person, but she's quite talkative and funny. She always has a cool head and kind of a melo, laid back attitude.
I love Chelsie. She's such a sweet girl and very nice. I like the fact that the Wampanoag girls all wanted a Hawaiian name. They are also very interested in the Hawaiian language & culture. They "indigenous" people made me realize how many other cultures there are in the world besides Hawaiians that are struggling and fighting for the better of their people. I also love the way they dance. It looks very fun & I hope to go to a Pow Wow some day.
I couldn't wait to meet the native americans. I was seriously waiting for them with excitement. Later, I find out they don't come until 2 days after were here, and they are coming way past curfew. So I didn't see them till morning, and when I did, I kind of knew it was them. Three chocolate girls walk pass my door. I say hi, they don't answer. How rude. anyways I decide to mingle and I talk to CHELSIE first. She was really cool, and I knew we'd get along just fine. SHe's is awesome at the jingle dance, and she is super hilarious. I love all wampanoag girls if there like chelsie.
